The whole point of sharing files on the Portal is for your guests to be able to download them. This topic will describe how that works. Also note that, if you allow it, your guests can upload files into the Portal too, for you to download. We'll cover that scenario as well.
When you share files with your guests, they will receive an email message containing instructions for downloading the files. In this email they will find a link. They need to click that link.
If you've set up a password for your guest, they will go to a login page. After logging in with the password, they will see the file(s) shared with them.
If you haven't set up a password for your guest, they will go directly to the file(s).
All files and folders have a checkbox to their left. Your guest should put a checkmark next to each item they wish to download. A Download button will appear. Click this button to begin the download. The download will be saved to their computer's Downloads folder.
Important: If your guest selects more than one file or selects a folder, their download will be a ZIP file. See Unzipping Files below.
If your guests have shared files with you, you will want to download them to your PC:
Note that you can only download from one folder at a time. If the files are spread across multiple folders, you will need to download each one individually.
Important: If you select more than one file or selects a folder, your download will be a ZIP file. See Unzipping Files below.
Important: Downloading does not remove the file from the Portal. It simply saves a copy on your machine. Also note that the file on your machine and the copy in the Portal are not linked to each other. They are each independent copies.
If the download is a ZIP file (or compressed folder), the individual files must be extracted. Fortunately, it's quite easy:
Note that it's also possible to copy the files in the ZIP file and paste them where you want to save them.
